Audix R61 Kit Reviews
There is a NEW option in the wireless world!
Mobile DJ since 2001. Previous owner of Shure and Sennheiser systems. Have used Audix R61 receivers weekly (mostly at weddings) since early 2017, they are rock solid units! TRUE DIVERSITY (dual tuners) indeed! Have not had a SINGLE signal drop out indoors or outdoors, (64MHz frequency band is awesome) even in the super busy RF environment of Southern California. We typically use 2-3 units at the same time. The range is outstanding also, we are often about 100 ft away (advertises a huge 450 ft range, haven't had to do that..) and with up to 200 guests between receiver and bodypacks, still no issues. Very easy setup, and has great features like locking the transmitter so no accidental 'mutes' occur. R61 has a massive amount of tunable frequencies if you need them. The construction is metal and quite solid. Shure and Sennheiser rule the mobile DJ world of wireless, but after speaking with Audix at NAMM 2017, I went with their system and have not looked back. I have since had two other colleagues see/hear the system, and although they were lifetime Shure users, bought an Audix 60 series system. The few reviews you will find rave about them as well. I think it is the current sleeper system that doesn't get a lot of attention, but performs extremely well. Highly recommend. The only downside is the R61 receivers, and the 60 series in general, are of course more expensive than the '40' series, and not typically in stock...anywhere. It takes a few extra days to get to you but it is worth the wait to ensure perfect events, especially wedding ceremonies, with rock solid signal thanks to the true diversity dual tuners.
