this does exactly what we needed....we need to be able to adjust the angle of our studio teleprompters separately from the angle of the cameras mounted in them....this mount let us set the prompter at the best, most visible angle for the talent...then tilt the camera to get the best shot. Did need a bit of tightening for the heavier cameras, and we did use the Allen key option, rather than the thumbwheel for tightening the attachment to the camera's sliding plate....glad they included that!

Yes, the Magnus Folding Z-Head joints can be tightened to add or eliminate motion but this cannot breach the maximum payload amount to keep it still.

I need it to take photos at ground level. I have a Nikon D5500 and D7200. Without a tripod, just resting it on the ground?
Asked by: Carlos
Depending on what is mounted on the Magnus Folding Z-Head, it could work directly on the ground. Though some gear may be too heavy and could throw the balance off, it would be ideal to use a base that will keep it steady like the Sunwayfoto T16C20N II Mini Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs (B&H # SUT16C20NII).
