KUVRD ULC overview

  • 1Description

The Universal Lens Cap from KUVRD is a silicone made cap that stretches over the front or rear barrel of any lens with a diameter between 60 and 120mm. The cap can function as both a front and rear lens cap. Once the cap is on, it grips tight and never falls off, and intentionally pulling it off is the only way the cap comes off the barrel.

The cap seals the lens' elements against rain, dust, or dirt, and it is shock-absorbing, so the lens does not break if it is dropped. You can even stack multiple caps for extra protection. Additionally, the Universal Lens Cap replaces your lens' original cap, and you never have to worry about losing another cap again.

Universal Lens Cap is rated 1.8 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wish I had checked here first I got this because I was served an ad on Instagram, and I echo others in feeling like the world's biggest sucker for (literally) buying it. The "lens cap" you see above has a narrower diameter than a soda can. The rubber about as thick as if you put 2 balloons together - which is a useful comparison because getting it on/off anything over 65mm will feel like trying to put your lens into a sculpting balloon. I could possibly see this as extra protection on your lenses (when you won't need them in any kind of hurry) in a bag that isn't rainproof - but if you need that, I recommend a ziploc freezer bag - which would still be faster than using this thing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Way over priced This item is just a cheap rubber sleeve/cap. The $30 price is ridiculous. Even $5 might be a reach. I guarantee the sleeve will tear after only a few uses on a 77mm or larger lens diameter. It also takes two hands to install the cap not ideal when walking around. Big thank you to B&H for having a generous return policy, If I got stuck with this item, I would have been highly disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Interesting concept, but not universal So far, I've had this only a short while. I got it to replace a lost cap for a 12 mm Laowa lens. I get what these folks are trying to do but it's not the easiest to put on or remove, then what do you do with it while shooting? Not figured that out yet. I believe over time, I'll get used to it but it can't beat the simplicity of a real thin lens cap. Gave it 3 stars because, 1) it's well made, 2) does act as a lens cap, 3) could cover a number of lenses but not really wide ones with out a lot of work, 4) is not the easiest to put on or off, and 5) may be useful to some.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lens cap Not universal. Difficult to put on. Small lens ok. Not for canon 24-70,100,70-200,,100-400. Fits my Olympus 4/3 lens but not easy

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I'd give it zero stars if I could What I sucker I was for buying this worthless piece of junk. I was just in Brazil, lost a lens cap and was looking for something more permanent. Sure I can stretch this over a lens but I can place a baggie and a rubber band over a lens also. It's not easy on, not easy off. I have no place to place a lens hood. I might try to send it back but it isn't really B&H's fault they sell this worthless item. Maybe I can find a use for it. I'm just not sure what it'll be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome K. Not sure why all the negative reviews. I have 4 of these and they all work great. I have a Nikon DSLR and use these on 72mm diameter lenses with no issue. I much prefer these over a regular lens cap. I have even kept the lens hood in place and used over top of the lens hood. I will say it's a 'stretch' to use on a 150-600 Sigma. Will it fit....barely and really not meant for such a large diameter. I backed this product on a Kickstarter campaign and have been very pleased. It takes getting used to. But I much prefer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ripped on First Use So disappointed! It ripped in two on my first use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Universal Enough I was excited when I saw this product as a solution for the problem of losing lens caps. Unfortunately the size of the Kurvd product is not large enough. I am using it on a 77mm Canon lens with a Lee adapter ring installed and it's like trying to fit a size 10 foot in a size 5 shoe! It would be a perfect solution if they manufacture a larger size!
