Can I use these with my i-phone?
To listen with my iPhone 5s I have been using a TEAC HA-P50 Portable Headphone Amplifier / DAC. The TEAC really does punch up the performance of the headphones. It has worked flawlessly and is easy to hook up, just plug and play with a USB to Apple Lightning Plug. Plug headphones into the 3.5mm phones plug and turn it on. The TEAC has internal rechargeable battery. You might want to pick up a charging adapter and cable to charge it up from a wall plug.
I highly recommend these headphones and the TEAC HA-P50.

Yeah I have used them that way. I dont know if studio monitors are supposed to work that way or not but these have been a jack of all trades pair for me.

is there a short cable (4" max) that can be used in place of the original cables? I need to plug in a small wireless receiver and the original cables are too big.
The cable on these Audio Technica headphones is specialized and we do not carry anything that short. You may be able to contact AT to see of they can custom one for you.
