    Apple Magic Mouse 2 reviews

Magic Mouse 2 (Space Gray) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 143.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from An intelligent minimalist device Took me a little while to get used to it, and I would have liked a 'back' button, but the swiping functions (and for all I know, a 'back' function is accessible and I just haven't found it yet) are both simple and reliable. Half the time or so I start using it upside down so that my cursor suddenly disappears in an unanticipated direction, but that's just doltish user failure and not a commentary on the design. It doesn't *quite* work on any surface, as there are places where stiction between the base and the surface causes annoying stickiness, but it is very good. One does not lament the bad old days of weighted rubber balls...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Apple Magic Mouse 2 I am a long time Microsoft based computer user. After the last 2 system corruptions that caused me 12 hours of work to restore, I decided that it is time to change. I bought a MacBook Pro, along with it, the Magic Mouse 2. I charge the Mouse after I receive it, didn't know it was fully charged because there is absolutely no indication lights, nor how to connect to the computer. No points were taken off from my lack of Apple product knowledge. What I like: The Mouse is like a moving touchpad Smooth, accurate What I don't like: The Mouse is lower profile to my liking (I have pretty big hands), I would prefer a higher profile. Overall, I like the Mouse, more convenient than the track pad.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Signal Occasionally Cuts Out When the connection to the mouse works, it's a great mouse. The battery lasts for a very long time...I've owned it a few weeks, haven't charged it one time yet, and there's still 65% of battery left. Making left or right clicks is as simple as you'd expect it to be, and I like how you can swipe up, down, left or right to browse through pages in Safari. The only problem with the mouse is that occasionally the bluetooth connection cuts out...especially when my Mac Pro has been idle for a few hours. When that happens, I have to hook up my corded mouse and select the Apple mouse to re-estblish the bluetooth connection. Other than that issue, it's a great mouse.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Beware I had recently purchased a new Macbook Pro from B&H and later purchased the Magic Mouse 2. I couldn't pair it with the Macbook and after discussions with Applecare decided that it was faulty and sent it back. I was promptly send another and had the same problem. So, I tried pairing it with my IMac to make certain it wasn't defective and it paired seamlessly. After another call to Applecare it was determined that this had to hardwired to the Macbook in order to pair. The cable that was supplied won't connect as it is USB to USBC. I've had to get an adapter. It just would have been nice to know all of this before I spend so much time on the phone with Applecare and time sending and receiving a new Mouse.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Compatible The Apple Magic Mouse 2 (Silver) is not compatible the the MacBook, mid 2017. B&H customer service indicated to me that it was compatible and placed the order over the phone for me. In order to fix the problem I had to buy a $20 adapter from USB to USB-C. This is the second compatibility problem that B&H has created for me with the MacBook mid 2017. The first problem was an incompatible protective bumper. Over the past 3 years I have placed 3 orders with B&H. On my first B&H order there was a lengthy unacceptable shipping delay. On the other two orders I had the compatibility issues noted above.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad, bad design Pros: it works when it is charged, and it looks nice. Cons: Anyone who designs a mouse with the charging port on the bottom should be fired immediately. Period. Also, you need to use the provided USB-Lightning cable to pair the mouse. It is now 2018, and all the new MacBook pros come with USB-C ports only. My mouse does not come with a USB-to-USB-C adapter, so I had to find an adapter before I could use the mouse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Happy! Bye-bye batteries You must have el Capitan OX installed to use this mouse. Beyond that, it works great. Comes with a charge so you can use it immediately. I've had it for two weeks and only charged it once. It still had 40% when I decided to charge it the first time. It took maybe an hour to charge to 100%. I'm extremely happy about not having to change batteries at the most inopportune times. No more rotating rechargeables.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Compatible with OS X 10.10 or below This device is only compatible with 10.11 (El Cap), nothing prior. Purchased over a dozen of these and they are almost completely useless.
