Standard fluid head for under $75 I love it. I don't recommend for a heavy camera even it says up to 9 lbs You need an adapter for the tripod legs it doesn't include one. Build quality is very good.

Yes, The Davis & Sanford V9 Fluid Video Head has a fixed counterbalance spring. Whether it is tipped forward or backward, once released it will return to level.

why is there a knob on the right and left side?

The knob on the right side top end of the Davis & Sanford V9 Fluid Video Head tightens the tripod plate into the head. Beneath that one still on the right, the bigger knob tightens or loosens the amount of Vertical tension on forward and backward motions. The knob on the left side tightens or loosens the panning capabilities, for horizontal motions of the fluid head.
