The adapter has female 3/4"-5 threads that screw directly to the pole. A removable 1/4"-20 screw on top of the adapter then lets your attach accessories such as ball heads, quick releases, and flash shoes. You can replace the top screw with the provided 5/8" male pin to support items like light fixtures that have a 5/8" receiver.
