Can I use this as a home theater projector? How is the blacks?
Asked by: Nalin
Yes, it can be used as a home theater projector. The blacks would be pretty good as this is a laser projector. Keep it might the video processing found on projectors such as these wouldn't be the same as projectors built for home theater, so it might not handle low res or fast motion images the way you might like.

Keep it might the video processing found on projectors such as these wouldn't be the same as projectors built for home theater, so it might not handle low res or fast motion images the way you might like. As others said as well, the aspect ratio will be a bit off for your standard home theater 16:9 signals.

Will this project a 2.35:1 aspect ratio, if not can you guide me to something comp. that will?
Asked by: David
2.35:1 is an ANAMORPHIC Aspect ratio. "CinemaScope" Most Projectors will adjust to compensate to the closest ration available for that Machine. I have an Epson 1920 x 800 machine at home and it does ok with that ratio. I have not tried that ratio with the L615U. See the web site on "Resolution/Aspect Ratio Cheat sheet" for a listing of how that ratio works out as a resolution for a projector. Also web search for the manual on the Epson L615U and look on page 129 for a listing of resolutions for that projector. Hope all this helps you.
