The Alpine Astronomical Baader 2" 45° Amici Erecting Diagonal is the ideal celestial and terrestrial observation accessory for your Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope (SCT)—especially when used with low-to-medium magnification eyepieces. The standard 2" SCT visual back threads allow it to be directly connected onto just about any medium-to-large Cassegrain optical tube assembly (OTA) and puts your head in a comfortable viewing position when the OTA is aimed high overhead or straight forward. The 2" holder allows the use of large eyepieces, while the included reducer adapter allows you to use the smaller and more common 1.25" size eyepieces.
Its integrated erecting prism has anti-reflection multi-coatings on the exterior surfaces to maximize light transmission, while highly reflective coatings on the interior prism surfaces virtually eliminate diffraction—resulting in very little light loss through the prism system to ensure views remain bright and clear. Due to the optical limitations of the erecting prism system, the Amici is not recommended for high magnifications as you may experience color fringing and other aberrations.
