Use the Baader Spanner Wrench with 2mm Pins from Alpine Astronomical to unmount an M48/T-2 insert ring from a Baader Protective Canon T-Ring. The spanner wrench features 2mm-diameter pins and has an adjustable width. It can also be used to attach or detach other select rings with 2mm (0.079") holes.

The spanner works well for the thin or small adapters that are difficult to grab with fingers, and it won't damage the adapter like plyers might. The spanner is a bit stiff, so I need to be careful when adjusting the spacing when the pin holes are right next to the glass.
