- Standard 2" Filter Threads on Both Ends
- Outer Male SCT Mounting Threads
- Flat-Black Anti-Reflection Body Coating
An improvement on conventional models, the Alpine Astronomical Baader 2" Safety Kerf Nosepiece employs a series of shallow grooves along the portion that gets inserted into focusers or other accessories to provide additional grip and security from inadvertent slipping, without the problems sometimes caused by traditional deep undercuts. The whole piece measures 32mm in length, with 27mm of optical length to fit deeply into holders. One side has standard 2" male outer Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope (SCT) threads, and both sides have inner eyepiece filter threads. To improve image contrast the interior and exterior of the nosepiece are treated with a matte-black anti-reflection coating.
