CAMVATE C1726 Overview

The CAMVATE Dual-Use Adjustable Universal Cage Kit with Top Wooden Handle is designed for use with virtually any DSLR or mirrorless camera. The riser can be built on either the camera's left or right side. It includes a baseplate and top plate, with adjustable arms for both the top and bottom plates, as well as a wooden top handle, wooden left-side grip, and cold shoe for mounting accessories. The baseplate provides a 1/4"-20 screw to secure your camera and rubber pads to protect the base of your camera while mounted.

The side riser comes with two different kinds of sliding bars, one just under 2.7" and the other just above 4.1". This allows you to center a variety of cameras of different sizes, making this cage extremely versatile. Allen screws allow you to adjust the size to fit your camera.

Durable, CNC-machined aluminum construction.
Extendable side support comes with two sliding bars fitting camera heights 2.6 to 4" and 4.1 to 5.6".
The top cheese plate features numerous 1/4"-20 threaded holes for mounting accessories.
The baseplate features 1/4"-20 threaded holes for tripod mounting, rubber pads to protect your camera base, and a threaded 1/4"-20 screw for securing your camera in place.
The included top handle features metal and wood construction for a stylish blend of comfort and durability. The handle has one 3/8"-16 and three 1/4"-20 threaded mounting holes, as well as an integrated cold shoe.
The left-side wood handle is useful when the cage is built with the riser on the left side of the camera, providing a comfortable grip for holding your rig.
An included removable cold shoe can be mounted onto a variety of places on the cage.

It works but...

I have been using this cage on and off for two years. For a recent project I have been using it more often with a Nikon Z6 with Ninja V, Tascam XLR mic adapter, and a wireless receiver. For tripod mounting with Gitzo stye tripod heads the tripod plate will hang up on the bottom bracket of Camvate but this can be fixed with a spacer between the tripod plate and the Camvate camera mount.The screws constantly loosen up. One you get it rigged up the way you want it buy a tube of automotive Locktite and use on each and every screw on the rig including the thumb screws for the handle.

Gets the job done.

It'll definitely get the job done, but it's not the sturdiest of rigs. It could use more 1/4-20 and 3/8 slots for accessories. I really had to crank the bolts down on the adjustable slides for them not to want to loosen with a little use of the rig/camera. The top and side handles are well made and fairly comfortable, but the side handle is a little small for me.
