Celestron PowerSeeker 127EQ 127mm f/8 Reflector Telescope

Ideal for near and deep-sky observation, Celestron's PowerSeeker 127EQ 127mm f/8 Reflector Telescope features a respectable focal length and a large, parabolic mirror that produces detailed images of the moon, clear views of the planets, and the ability to resolve bright distant objects such as nebulae and galaxies. The scope is outfitted with a 1.25" rack-and-pinion focuser and two eyepieces to get new users started, and a 3x Barlow lens that effectively triples the magnification of any eyepiece.

The included manual equatorial mount features slow-motion control cables with large knobs to make it easy to track objects even when wearing gloves, while also minimizing vibrations caused by handling the mount with your hands; and clearly visible indicators on the Right Ascension and Declination axes. An adjustable-height aluminum tripod rounds out the rig with a tray for accessories such as eyepieces, filters, and lights.

Celestron PowerSeeker 127 EQ Reviews

A “hobby killer” telescope. Useful as a boat anchor

Just don’t buy this. It’s a terrible telescope for many reasons that I don’t have space to fully illuminate, but I’ll try. I bought this telescope based on some positive reviews, but struggled and fought with so many of its flaws that it’s headed to the recycling center. Flaws: - the tripod is undersized for the weight of this scope and constantly shakes with any light touch - the “Bird Jones” optical design requires a corrector lens which was not properly sized. Almost impossible to get a clear image - the finder scope and mount are out of alignment and poorly mounted - the included eyepieces are poorly chosen for the optical length and the 2x barlow lens just enlarges a terrible, fuzzy image Seriously, there’s a whole sub Reddit devoted to how terrible this telescope is. Don’t waste your money. Celestron should be ashamed for selling this item.

Awesome service
