No, it doesn't. I have a great charger from Energizer that charges AA, AAA, C, D, and 9V batteries that i use for it.

This is NiMH and described as 9V. NiMH is 1.2V per cell nominally, so with 8 cells would be 9.6V nominal. With 7 it would be 8.4. (Both of these voltages are supported by my Maha charger.) How many cells does this have?
