Godox EC200 Reviews

Good thing!

It's really good! I need it, if the head with the lamp needs to be placed on the high stand - but I don't want the top to be too heavy... Also, with another accessory - Godox Witstro H200R Round Flash Head - or - Godox H200J - , you can turn the ad200pro into an on-camera flash.

Love this thing

Bought this extension head to transfer the weight of our ad200 from the top of our light stand to closer to the middle/base of our light stand for better stability (in combination with an Impact Super Clamp). It also makes it easier for an assistant to hand hold a light since they're really just holding the flash head versus the entire ad200 unit (you can keep the ad200 unit in a lens bag on your side or attach it to a spider monkey clip and attach it to your belt). Build - the extension wire is sturdy and well insulated. The wire is also well attached to either end. The material looks to be the same material used for the ad200. Overall, it's well made. I would highly recommend this for anyone using the ad200 with a modifier (i.e. softbox, umbrella, etc.) .

I have a few of these. They allow me to leave the bare-bulb head mounted in softbox/strip box etc. while I remove the base and use with the round head or another modifier. Greatly increass the flexibility of use for the base.

This fits the flash and heads well. I like that it lowers the center of gravity from off the top of the stand to a more balanced position. I'm happy that this is the newer design that allows the use of two of these with the AD-B2 mount. I do wish Godox would also make this with a coiled cable, for use on camera or hand-held on a pole.

Great tool- great- like many I've transitioned over to GODOX AD200's as my primary battery flash- & this simple & cheap tool adapts all of my existing lightboxes etc that were pre-set to work with hot-shoe mounted flashes to work with the AD200 ! And it's great for taking the hefty weight of the AD200 off the end of booms etc- Great tool !

The trigger you use doesn’t matter. If you have a working AD200, just connect the extension inline between the flash head and body.

For the body you can use a superclamp https://bhpho.to/30O84IU. For the head you can use a regular Bowens adapter https://bhpho.to/2EuSYhI.

question

Does this item fit on the AD-B2, Dual Power Flash Bracket? I seems that there are two versions of EC200.
Asked by: Tomoaki Y.
Yes and no! V1 (the one shown here) can be used with it, but as a single connection only since all the proper connections are present. Basically as it would be used the same as extending the connection to the attachments, but instead of an attachment it would be the one side of the ad-b2. V2 can be dual mounted because they redesigned the way the cable comes out from the bottom to the side to come mostly from the side only. V1 can't be dual mounted because the cable is too far out from the bottom and the ad-b2 doesn't have the clearance to mount one and then another of that design.

question

Is that a hot-shoe or cold mount? I see no reason why a hot-shoe wouldn't be used so the flash can be triggered from the camera. Alternatively you would have to mount it on top of the X1T. Imagine camera mounting a powerful AD200, holstering the body, and adding a MagBeam to increase the throw. Talk about a bazooka for wildlife photography!
Asked by: Alfonso B.
The shoe on this extension has no circuitry, therefore it would be a cold shoe. The connection to extension the flash head is done with the contacts connected to the front of the AD200 and the end that holds the flash tube.
