Found in: Creative Laptops

The 13.9" MateBook X Pro Multi-Touch Notebook from Huawei is a sleek and portable notebook designed for on-the-go work and entertainment. It features a nearly borderless display with a 91% screen-to-body ratio for an immersive viewing experience. Moreover, it has a 3000 x 2000 resolution, a 450 cd/m2 brightness rating, 100% sRGB coverage, and a 1500:1 contrast ratio for crisp and clear details with brighter bright colors and deeper blacks. it also supports touch inputs, so you can utilize touch gestures and commands within Windows 10 to enhance its efficiency and accessibility.

Specs-wise, the MateBook X Pro is equipped with a 1.8 GHz Intel Core i7-8550U quad-core processor, 16GB of 2133 MHz LPDDR3 RAM, a 512GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD, and an NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics card. If you need extra storage, it has multiple USB ports for external storage solutions. Other integrated features include 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, a recessed webcam, a backlit keyboard, microphones, speakers, and a 3.5mm mic/headphone combo jack. The operating system installed is Windows 10 Home Signature Edition.

91% Screen-to-Body Ratio
The MateBook X Pro features a 91% screen-to-body ratio for a display that's nearly all screen, providing you with an immersive viewing experience.
Vivid Colors
Aside from a virtually borderless display, the screen features a 3000 x 2000 resolution, 100% sRGB color gamut coverage, a 450 cd/m2 brightness rating, and a 1500:1 contrast ratio for crisp and clear details with vivid color reproduction.
Touch
The MateBook X Pro's display supports 10-point touch and is built with ultra-thin Corning Gorilla glass and an anti-fingerprint coating.
Movie Theater Audio
With quad speakers and split frequency setup, the MateBook X Pro offers woofers with deep, resonant bass and tweeters with clear treble to deliver rich, crisp sound effects from all angles. Moreover, the Dolby Atmos Sound System minimizes distortion and can provide you with a 3D surround sound experience. It also has quad microphone to accurately pick up sounds.
Recessed Camera
Instead of the traditional webcam design, the MateBook X Pro's webcam is located on the keyboard and pops up only when you want it to.
Keyboard & Touchpad
The MateBook X Pro has a large touchpad and a backlit chiclet keyboard, which is also waterproof, so you can type freely in dark and dimly lit environments.
Thunderbolt 3
Thunderbolt 3 is a hardware interface that utilizes the reversible USB Type-C connector. Doubling the speed of its predecessor, Thunderbolt 3 features a maximum throughput of 40 Gb/s when used with compatible devices. The connector also transmits data via USB 3.1 at up to 10 Gb/s, and dual-bandwidth DisplayPort 1.2 allows you to connect up to two 4K displays simultaneously. Additionally, you can daisy chain up to six devices from a single Thunderbolt 3 port.
Huawei Share
Huawei Share enables you to exchange photos and files wirelessly, at speeds of up to 20 Mb/s, across HUAWEI devices without USB devices or third-party software.

Windows 10

Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Cortana
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
Xbox on Windows 10
Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.

    Huawei MateBook X Pro reviews

13.9" MateBook X Pro Multi-Touch Notebook (Space Gray) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value For Office Productivity (E.g. Intermediate Excel) , Light Software Development and Entertainment (Videos, Surfing etc.) in a fairly mobile and very well built package, this is hard to beat for the price. Great screen for work, good keyboard, loudish speakers, good battery life. Decent port selection and the included video-out dongle is a bonus. Highly recommend based on limited use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful, Powerful and Ultraportable Laptop! I was concerned about several problems reviewers claim this laptop has. I took the risk and bought it anyway, and fortunately, after some adjustments, my unit is working great. *The Intel graphics software gives the screen graphical stuttering, just turn off the auto panel refresh option in the battery section of the Intel graphics control panel. *The trackpad in my unit doesn't rattle, it is 100% responsive, it feels smooth, it works perfectly. *I put my unit to test by running some heavy workload scripts in MATLAB for like 5 hours with the NVIDIA graphics turned on, and it did heat up a little but nothing too crazy. After some updates, It feels like it heats up a lot less. It doesn't heat a bit when doing normal everyday stuff. *The laptop is crazy fast, all ports are working good, no charging problems, no connection problems, long battery life, SCREEN LOOKS SO BEAUTIFUL. *The camera is garbage as expected. *Keys lighting turns off after 15 seconds, and I haven't found a way to keep it on. *Build quality is great. Just a little behind of MacBooks. It's such a shame that a very small but considerable group of people got some problems with their units. But I believe Huawei is going the right direction, This laptop is an absolute beast and I bet their next laptop is going to be even better.
