The FBH-30D Ball Head from Field Optics Research features an Arca-type compatible clamp and quick release plate, and it can hold up to 12 lb. A separate lock for the 360° panning and a friction controllable lock for the ball allow for precise adjustments. I previously rated this a 1 star and couldn't see an option to update the review. I ended up emailing Field Optics Research about the issue with it rotating and wobbling while locked down. I received a prompt response from them with 2 options: 1) Send it back to them for repair or replacement 2) A way to fix it myself. I went with option 2, removed the vinyl hiding 3 screws on the bottom which loosened up due to my frequent use. I removed the screws and found some assembly grease got on the threads too. I cleaned them up in a cup with a shot of brake cleaner and then reinstalled them with a drop of blue (removable) Loctite. It has been 3 weeks since then and it has been rock solid since the Loctite dried. Very happy with their customer service and the ball head, now that it is functioning as expected.
I needed a light, reliable and high-quality ball head for my tripod. I found it here. But I could not buy it, delivery is not carried out in my country. I bought it elsewhere. Loved it. Recommend.
