With a separately available Benro FH100M2LR77 77mm or FH100M2LR82 82mm adapter ring, this filter holder can be mounted onto a lens or step-up ring with 77mm or 82mm front filter threads. For use with the Benro FH100M2HF Master 100mm Filter Holder, a compatible filter must first be installed within a separately available Benro 100 x 100mm Filter Protecting Frame or Benro 100 x 150mm Filter Protecting Frame. Those two Benro filter protecting frames are each designed to encase the edges of one 100 x 100mm, 2mm thick filter and one 100 x 150mm, 2mm thick filter, respectively. By encasing the sides of an installed filter, these filter protecting frames help to eliminate stray light, which could have unwanted effects on exposure, from coming in-between an installed filter and the filter holder and lens behind it. Additionally, a Benro filter protecting frame reinforces an installed filter's rigidity while preventing its sides from having to come into direct contact with the filter holder's slots. This protects those side surfaces and promotes sharp results by helping to ensure that a filter remains flat.
The Benro FH100M2HF Master 100mm Filter Holder includes up to three slots for a Benro filter protecting frame. Any Benro filter protecting frame within this filter holder can be switched with another Benro filter protecting frame that contains a different filter needed for other subjects or changing lighting conditions. If used with any one of the Benro FH100M2HF Master 100mm Filter Holder's slots, an integrated safety-catch system prevents a Benro filter protecting frame from accidentally sliding out of the filter holder.
Additionally, the Benro FH100M2HF Master 100mm Filter Holder utilizes an internal gear that is designed to engage with the built-in cogs along the outer edges of a Benro 100 x 150mm Filter Protecting Frame. A control knob allows that gear to be turned, precisely adjusting the position of a Benro 100 x 150mm Filter Protecting Frame, further benefiting the use of graduated neutral density or other filters that are enhanced by varied positioning. The control knob can be variously pushed or pulled, which provides the ability to toggle it among any or none of the Benro FH100M2HF Master 100mm Filter Holder's three filter slots.
Use of the filter holder can be easily accomplished by first screwing the separately available Benro FH100M2LR77 77mm or FH100M2LR82 82mm adapter ring onto a lens or step-up ring with 77mm or 82mm front filter threads, respectively. After being fitted onto the adapter ring, the Benro FH100M2HF Master 100mm Filter Holder's locking knob helps to provide a reliable, yet adjustable connection that allows the holder to be rotated 360°, also benefiting the use of graduated neutral density and other filters that are enhanced by varied positioning.
When the Benro FH100M2HF Master 100mm Filter Holder accommodates the separately available Benro MACPL82 82mm Circular Polarizer Filter, the polarizer filter is mounted within an integrated, geared filter ring, and fits between the filter holder and any Benro filter protecting frame in use. Two external thumb dials along the rear of the filter holder allow for the independent rotation of the circular polarizer filter in order to adjust the intensity of the polarization effect.

A Benro FH100M2BHF Master 100mm Wide-Angle Filter Holder is separately available for lenses that require a circular polarizer with a wider diameter to avoid vignetting when using that filter type. It accommodates a separately available Benro MACPL95 95mm Circular Polarizer Filter and up to three Benro filter protecting frames.
