Yongnuo YN565EX III Reviews

My opinion

So far it is very good, it is sufficient for daily portraits photo needs. However, compared to Canon 580ex II, I prefer the results from Canon. Color tones look more natural and soft. But for the price of yn565ex iii it can save a lot of money for other needs. So I think it's okay to use yongnuo, because you have to compromise with money to produce something more.

Exactly what I was looking for--and then some

I was looking for a hand-held flash to replace my aging Sunpak 383s--hopefully with one stop more power, a quicker recycle time at full power, and a PC port. I am primarily a manual shooter--TTL does not really interest me and rarely do I not bounce the flash indoors. Trying to figure power by stated guide numbers is a fool's errand. I figured that for $80 at least it would be as good as my 383s, which were similar in cost 10-15 years ago. Well, I got that one stop power. At a long shoot at the end of August, I was able to use it extensively on only one set of NiMHs. The recycle time at full power was less that two seconds throughout the shoot (my 383s take 5-6 seconds at full power}. I was able to shoot at 400-640 ISO instead of 1600 on convention group photos with backdrop.

Failed after 2 uses

I used this for two weddings, and halfway through the third wedding it failed mid-reception.  The screen freezes, and removal and replacement of the batteries does not fix the problem.

Can be triggered by Radio Yongnuo Rf-603?
Asked by: claudio
The Yongnuo 565EX III Flash for Canon Cameras does not have a radio receiver built in and so cannot be triggered directly by the Yongnuo RF-603. You would need one Yongnuo RF-603 on the camera and one attached to the flash to trigger this camera with this radio trigger. You can find a kit of 2x Yongnuo RF-603 Transceivers linked here. https://bhpho.to/3myNI1E

can the yn 565 iii be a slave for canon 430 ex iii-rt?

The 430EXIIIRT has only a optical slave so it will not work. The YN600 EXRT https://bhpho.to/2lMpTbk has a radio slave built in so you could use the 430EXIIIRT as a radio master for it.

is it compatibe with the rebel t7
Asked by: Isaiah
No, the Yongnuo 565EX III Flash for Canon Cameras (B&H# YOYN565EX3C) is not compatible with the Canon Rebel T7 or the SL3. However, it is compatible with just about any other recent Canon camera with a hot shoe, including the following cameras with names that could easily be confused for those of the T7 or SL3: Canon Rebel T7i, T6, SL2, and SL1. If you would like the most similar third party (i.e. non Canon brand) flash for your T7 then you should choose the Godox TT685C (B&H# GOTT685C): https://bhpho.to/3zMc51b

The preflashes are the TTL system evaluating the exposure. If you shoot manual the flash will not fire them.
