Yes. This will work with any X-mount Fujifilm camera. Keep in mind that this is a manual-focus only extension tube with no electrical contacts. You will need to enable "lensless shooting" in the menu of your XE2.

Yes, with the right lens. Your slides will have to be evenly back lit and you will also need to have the system optically centered, aligned and stable. Extension tubes are made for general close up and macro photography. If you only want to copy slides check out "slide copiers" listed at B&H.
