What is the maximum vertical shift on a Nikon d-850 before the overhanging prism gets the way and prevents further upward shift?
Hi. I have this adapter and a D850, There is no clearance issue with the prism overhang when using vertical shift. My version of the adapter (at least) has a tripod foot which will collide with the grip if it is oriented toward the right and you try to tilt/swing toward the right, However, if you remove the foot with an appropriate Allen key the clearance is fine.
The brass screw that you use to lock-tension the tilt mechanism is annoying, as it is very small, and doesn't offer much clearance to grip it well enough to tension it sufficiently. Lenses can drift-tilt downward under there own weight as a result. The trick is to temporarily shift your lens as far as it will go in the direction opposite the side the tension screw is on-- then you have plenty of room to grab the screw.
