Is it compatible with Nikon 850? Any other better kit, suggestions?
Asked by: Maria
The FotodioX Macro Extension Tube Set for Nikon F-Mount Cameras: for Extreme Close-Up Photography is a manual macro extension tube set that would be compatible for use with the Nikon D850 DSLR Camera. If you want a set of macro extension tubes that will retain automatic electronic communication between the camera and lens (which would allow you to retain autofocus and automatic exposure capability), the Vello EXT-ND2 Auto Focus Extension Tube Set for Nikon F-Mount Camera and Lenses, B&H # VEEXTND2, would also work for your usage needs.

I assume these various tubes screw together to form one long extension tube. Are the screw threads a 52mm thread as you would find in a standard filter? Or do the tubes use a bayonet to join together instead of a screw thread?
Asked by: Richard
The FotodioX Macro Extension Tube Set for Nikon F-Mount Cameras: for Extreme Close-Up Photography has several inner sections that screw together. The section that attaches to the camera and the lens are attached via a bayonet mount, but the section that attaches the inner tubes are via a screw mount. The exact diameter of the inner tubes are not listed by Fotodiox, unfortunately.

Can you use these rings to duplicate slides?

Can you use these rings to duplicate slides?
Asked by: Lewis J
Yes, with the right lens. Your slides will have to be evenly back lit and you will also need to have the system optically centered, aligned and stable. Extension tubes are made for general close up and macro photography. If you only want to copy slides check out "slide copiers" listed at B&H.
