Mutec MC-6 Stereo Digital Audio Format & 4-Channel Sample Rate Converter
Key Features
  • AES/EBU, AES/EBUid, and S/P-DIF
  • Format & Sampling Rate Conversions
  • Separate AES11 Reference Clock Input
  • Wordclock Output, Built-In Power Supply
The MC-6 Stereo Digital Audio Format & 4-Channel Sample Rate Converter by Mutec is a uni- and bidirectional audio signal converter. Incoming digital audio signals are converted unidirectionally to all three supported audio formats simultaneously, with or without SRC functionality. If clock rate conversion is necessary, the SRC engine can be locked to wordclock, in any digital audio input in both uni- and bidirectional operation modes. In X-SRC mode, the converter can lock two digital audio stereo sources with different clock rates and convert their audio formats and clock rates bidirectionally in real time. Additionally, the MC-6 can be used for up sampling of digital audio signals up to 96.0 kHz or even 192.0 kHz, great for working with DA converters.

Mutec MC6 Reviews

A versatile multi-function device

I use MC-6 as a front-end to my computer-based DSP processor to fulfill 3 functions: 1. Input selection; 2. Master clock source; 3. Sample rate converter. It works well, the SRC is very clear unless there are intersample peaks in the source signal. The only non-serious complaint is that when the internal clock of MC-6 is used as a master, I can't see the incoming clock since both Reference and Clock IN LEDs show the rate of the internal clock.
