CAME-TV TP-701 Overview

The 701B Carbon Fiber Video Tripod with Fluid Head from CAME-TV is a lightweight camera support that can hold up to a 55 lb load. The foam-padded, three-section legs extend the tripod's working height to a maximum of 67" and it folds down to 33".

The 100mm bowl features a 75mm adapter ring that connects the head to the bowl, and the head offers 360° locking pan rotation, a padded pan/tilt handle, a sliding quick release plate, an easy-to-read bubble level, and a center-column knob that can fine-tune your tripod head's position. The threaded rubber feet can move up and down to reveal spiked ends for stability on rough terrain. A padded carry bag is included to store and transport your tripod.

For years I've been using Miller, Sachtler, Manfrotto tripods... and recently purchased this beauty and have been nothing but impressed! The build quality is top notch for the price and despite being so heavy duty it is quite light and does everything I want it to. This would easily rank higher in my opinion than other tripods around the $1k mark.

Of all the tripods I've used, this one is a beast at a great price. I purchased a used model only it's aluminum. Although the carbon fiber model is slightly lighter, I don't notice that much of a difference. This baby holds a lot of weight. In addition, the tripod head is nice and smooth, but better than previous models I owned. I highly recommend this unit for any serious videographer.

What is the plate that this tripod uses, because ...

What is the plate that this tripod uses, because putting the Manfrotto plate is not possible? The clamp on the tripod head is not wide enough for the Manfrotto plates to slide in.

The plate style of the CAME-TV 701B is a custom design. The best way to convert the plate style to Manfrotto would be to add this QR adapter. The adapter mounts to the CAME-TV plate and converts it to a Manfrotto 501PL style. https://bhpho.to/3lMNG6A

Is this tripod any good? Price seems really low. Does it really support 55 LBS? I want to use it to support a 40 pound tripod system.

For the price this is a great system. It does have a 55 pound load capacity according to CAME-TV and it made of carbon fiber.
