- 4540x3640 Maximum Resolution
- Multi-Coated Synthetic Sapphire Window
Specifically designed for astro-imaging, the Starlight Xpress Trius SX-46 16.7MP Full-Frame Monochrome CCD Imaging Camera is outfitted with a large-format high-resolution KAF-16200-APS-C format CCD sensor that delivers stunning resolutions of up to 4540x3640, with good quantum efficiency across the entire visible spectrum peaking at 58% at 530nm. An onboard temperature-monitoring chip and 3-stage thermoelectric Peltier cooler, capable of cooling the camera up to 90°F (50°C) below ambient air temperature, ensure the imaging system continues to work efficiently, while its argon-filled aluminum housing and micro lenses maintain a moisture-free environment with maximum light transmission. A multi-coated synthetic sapphire input window with an extremely high thermal conductivity eliminates the need for a window heater, by drawing waste heat from the camera body to the entire window surface. A stepper-driven roller blind shutter offers extremely uniform illumination of the sensor, even at 0.1 second exposure time. Its built-in LED flood illuminator eliminates trapped electrons from previous images (RBI) to ensure each exposure is as perfect as it can be.
