IDP SMART-31D Overview

The IDP SMART-31S Dual-Sided ID Card Printer utilizes direct dye sublimation to produce sharp images at resolutions of 300, 600, and 1200 dpi. It offers dual-sided printing in a compact package that only weighs 7.5 pounds. Boosted speeds of up to 720 cards per hour are possible when using monochrome ribbons, while full-color printing can be achieved at a rate of 156 cards per hour. The printer accepts standard CR-80 size cards with thickness of 15 or 30 mil. The input hopper accepts up to 80 cards. The output hopper supports up to 25 cards.

The bundle includes one ribbon, one cleaning card kit, a 100-card pack, and the camera.

Note: this printer's ID card design software is compatible only with Windows operating systems. Mac OS and other operating systems require third-party software, such as CardPresso, for ID card design.

Great product for needing name badges on demand. The software is archaic, but workable. The color output is not great and can't figure out how to make the colors more vibrant. Used for employee badges with QR codes and being able to get a badge printed ASAP is great.

This was a very easy setup and very easy to figure out and use. We are making ID cards for our fire department and it does way more than we need. Definitely would recommend it to anyone.

Is there a Hologram Card that can be used? What about Microprint?

The IDP SMART-31D Double-Sided ID Card Printer could possibly use a Hologram laminate. Preprinted Hologram cards could work as well, depending on where the hologram is on the card.
