USA GEAR S17 Overview

Store and protect your DSLR camera, lenses and accessories in the USA Gear S17 DSLR Camera Backpack from Accessory Power. The pack is black with an orange interior, and has touch-fastening padded dividers, plus eight accessory pockets to provide numerous customized storage options. The top of the pack has a zippered compartment with an accessory pocket for keeping personal items and anything requiring handy access. A padded laptop compartment will accommodate a 15.6" notebook, tablet or other similar sized device.

On the side of the pack is a pocket for storing the base of a compact tripod, and an adjustable strap for securing the tripod's midsection. Tuck-away shoulder straps allow you to wear the backpack as a pack or sling. Simply tuck-away the strap that isn't being used. The pack has a waist belt for improved stability and comfort. Included with your S17 Backpack is a useful rain cover.

I love this bag. I use it every day and it still holds up 4 years later. It's got tons of space and is comfortable. It also can take a beating while protecting your gear from the elements.

Got this for a red hot deal and I'm mclovin it so far. My old one is an el cheapo one i use for old gear now because this one is nice with all the compartments and zipper configs. And it's purple so there ya go

The interior pieces of this bag are fully customizable to fit my gear and my Sony A7IV and 200-600 mm lens fits vertically in the bag with the camera and lens connected, without being unnecessarily large or bulky. I've only had it for a month and hope it will be durable and last a long time.

Good bag for the price

I have found that there is no one camera bag that fits all my needs. I was looking for a small bag to use when I have size limitations or know I won't have a lot of time to take photos, or when I go for a quick photo outing. This bag did fit those criteria. On the positive side the price point was very good. I had no problem fitting my Canon 5D Mk IV, my Canon 24-70mm L lens and 100 mm macro along with my Tamron 28-300mm. In addition, it held my MacBook Pro, extra batteries, wires, compact flash cards, sun glasses a small book and a few accessories. It also comes with a rain cover and you can get a 3 year warranty when you register the product. On the negative side it felt flimsy and the internal lining didn't fit well. I felt as though the velcro was going to teat the lining if I wasn't careful. The small pocket on the side of the bag was too small to be useful. ( It would have been nice if it could hold a cell phone.) Although it has a luggage handle slot I was unable to fit it over any of the handles on my luggage. Exactly how the tuck away shoulder straps are supposed to work has so far been a bit of a puzzle. Maybe more my problem then their's. The upper storage compartment tapers toward the front of the bag which limits what it can hold. Botton line is that it is a good small bag for the price but could be improved.

I use this bag when the airlines announces we are collecting roller bags. I move everything valuable from my roller to the pack laugh at the stupidly as they are the same size. No more fights with airline robots discussed as humans.

I've had this backpack for a few years and it has been amazing. As an upgrade to everyday camera holders or slings, it proforms, the only problem I've had with it is the shoulder straps, the fabric on the inside has holes, and for the times I've been sunburned or my shoulders have been sensitive, I have to take it off and carry it.

My Backpack was delivered as promised. It is, actually better than expected. Only time will tell how well it holds up. I outgrew my Lowepro shoulder bag and this backpack holds everything with room for more, with better access. My Lowepro bag is over 35 yrs old, we'll have to wait and see on this USA Gear backpack. Good value purchase and am well pleased!

How much does the entire bag weigh? The specs said the interior weighs 2.5 lb but the package weighs only 2 lb. It doesn't make sense, unless some part will be missing when delivered.

The USA GEAR S17 DSLR Camera Backpack weights in at 2 lbs. The numbers in the specs are reversed. The package weights 2.47 lbs.

Is the top compartment separated from the larger, bottom compartment? And if it is, would it be possible to run cavles from the top - compartments? I want to use this as an audio recording bag with my Schoeps microphones and Sound Devices Mixpre Series recorders! TIA!!!

Yes, the top divider is removable on teh USA GEAR USA Gear S17 DSLR Camera Backpack. If you only need to run cables through the top and bottom compartment you can do so since the divider attaches to the backpack wall with Velcro tape.
