NiSi Combination Solid ND and Circular Polarizer Filter (62mm, 6-Stop)
Key Features
  • 1.8 Optical Density
  • Optical Glass Construction
  • 62mm Front Filter Threads
  • Darkens Entire Image
This 6-stop, 62mm NiSi Combination Solid ND and Circular Polarizer Filter combines a solid neutral density effect with a circular polarizer effect. When in use, this filter's 64x filter factor provides a 6-stop exposure reduction. Its 1.8 optical density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed without overexposing your image By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.

NiSi ND & CPL Filter Overview

This 6-stop, 62mm NiSi Combination Solid ND and Circular Polarizer Filter combines a solid neutral density effect with a circular polarizer effect. When in use, this filter's 64x filter factor provides a 6-stop exposure reduction. Its 1.8 optical density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed without overexposing your image By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.

Simultaneously, this filter can help to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. The light from the sun naturally becomes partially polarized due to reflecting off electrons in air molecules, causing the light to scatter into what appears as haze. A polarizing filter arranges, and filters, this directionally polarized light perpendicularly to the reflected light, allowing for the absorption of much of this light. This results in a noticeable reduction of glare and reflections from non-metallic surfaces and an increase in the saturation of skies and foliage.

A circular polarizer only differs from a linear polarizer in that it contains a quarter wave plane in addition to the linear polarizing filter. The addition of this quarter wave plane is to circularly polarize the linearly polarized light for the use of auto focus and exposure functions. Due to how the light is broken down and filtered with a linear polarizer, auto focus and exposure accuracy become skewed during use. When the light becomes circularly polarized, it permits the use of these functions.

This filter is non-coated and is constructed from optical glass for clarity and features an aluminum alloy filter ring that can be rotated to adjust the intensity of the polarization effect.

1.8 optical density filter effect darkens the image, allowing you to photograph with a longer shutter speed or wider aperture than normally required
Providing a 64x filter factor with a 6-stop exposure reduction, this filter allows you to control depth of field and convey movement more easily
Polarizing filter effect arranges, and filters, directionally polarized light perpendicularly to the reflected light, allowing for the absorption of much of the light
Helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface
Clears up haze in distant landscapes and provides more saturated, vivid colors
Strongest polarization effect when used at a 90° angle from the sun
Circular polarizer effect is ideal for use with digital cameras and autofocus lenses where a linear polarizer will often disrupt auto exposure and focus features
Constructed from optical glass for clarity
Aluminum-alloy filter ring for durability while remaining lightweight
Filter ring can be rotated to adjust the intensity of the polarization effect
62mm front filter threads allow for use with other filters
Plastic filter case for storage and transport

NiSi Circular Polarizer Filter

I have just received my new filter. I appreciate the Events Space presentation so I can take care when attaching it to my lens. I have found it stiff to rotate which results in loosening it from the camera when trying to rotate it. The rotation ring is also very narrow making it hard to get a firm hold. I am looking forward to trying it out to bring out the contrast in colors of sky and landscape.

Very nice nd filter with good price

This nd filter works great! I don't see much impact on color and sharpness. Also, the polarizer filter is very useful when I take photo of the sea. Consider its price (compare with similar product, PolarPro or Freewell), I think it is a very good choice.

Can this be used with a Canon 20mm VCM lens, while using the hood and lens cap?
Asked by: John
The NiSi Combination Solid ND and Circular Polarizer Filter (67mm, 6-Stop) will work on the Canon RF 20mm f/1.4 L VCM Lens (Canon RF) and lens cap. It will not fit the lens hood.
