I recommend affixing this to a seamless focus gear ring because position is critical. If it is on a seamless focus gear ring, you can take the gear ring off the lens and then reposition it. I think you are suppose to hold either the camera body or the bottom of the lens in the palm of your left hand and use your left thumb on this tab to focus. Doing so will add support to your camera and lens and reduce camera shake.
