Pulling back the metal sheath on the nylon handle reveals an installed rounded tip, and a zirconium oxide ceramic blade that has a finger-friendly edge, which is sharp for materials, but resistant to cutting skin. The blade protrudes just 0.2" from the handle, which makes it safe to score the cardboard of a box yet not harm the contents inside.
