It features two USB ports that allow you to connect peripherals such as thumb drives for easy playback of a variety of file types. Additionally, the player can wirelessly stream video content from your smart device to your display.

The DP-UB820-K is compatible with a variety of video and audio formats, such as AVCHD, MP3, FLAC, and more. It supports high-resolution audio formats such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio for a dynamic surround sound experience, and even has a 7.1-channel analog and a dedicated HDMI audio output. Additionally, you can control the Blu-ray player with your voice through your compatible Alexa or Google smart speaker.

The Panasonic DP-UB820-K Blu-ray player is a well built and well designed 4K Blu-ray player. The quality of the movies and sound it produces is excellent. This Blu-ray player plays, DVD's, Ultra High Blu-ray and Ultra HD Premium DVD's and CD's. This Blu-ray player has HDMI, Digital Optical jacks and Analog jacks that allowed me to use high end older Onkyo home theater sound system. The remote control is well designed and the TV on screen menu is easy to navigate. The reviews of this product gave this Blu-ray player high marks for quality, performance and features. All in all it is a very capable and full feature product that produces a great picture and sound. The Panasonic DP-UB820-K comes with a limited one year warranty. Jon

The Panasonic DP-UB820-K is probably the best all-around Blu Ray player on the market. I've had my eye on it for 2 years and I decided to finally go for it when the disc drive in my PlayStation 4 broke down. This is a serious disc player. The mechanicals seem really sound. It runs silently. And the digital output is perfect. The user interface (UI) is dated and sluggish, Users will just have to deal with it, just like the interfaces of most AV receivers and other high end gear. But once you have it connected to your network and have your settings saved, it is a superior movie player. Got Criterion Collection DVDs? This machine is practically made for them. This is a solid choice. It might prove to be the last Blu Ray player I ever buy, if it is durable enough.

Unit now flashes Welcome and Please, then turns off. Now have an over $400 brick. No answer from Panasonic support. Out of warranty. Total waste of money!

Hate to get caught up in always buying the latest high(er) resolution video players, but the step up to 4k is pretty dang nice. The enhanced image enabled by Dolby Vision is awesome. You can actually see what's going on deep in the shadows of a dark scene. Not all movies being sold as 4k are an actual improvement over regular bluray, but the good ones are great!

Is the player noisier when reading a 4K UHD disc compared to a regular blu-ray HD disc? The player sounds normal at regular play.

I don’t think it’s noisier, I can not hear a difference. But when I’m playing a movie on the player I have my surround sound on anyway. I have had problems of sound not playing at all when a disc is played. I had to turn it off and on again , then the sound will come on. Don’t happen very often. But has happened before.

Since my 10-year-old Oppo DVD player is not working very well now, I am thinking about replacing it. Will this Panasonic model work with a 2009 Samsung plasma TV?

It seems like a bit of “over kill” since this player is very expensive and designed for 4K UHD discs which will not work with your television. If I were you, I would buy a Roku or Apple TV streaming box instead and save a decent amount of money. This player will only work to its fullest if you buy a 4K television.

Yes. This player can down-convert to 1080p so your TV can process and play them. There will be no HDR so the image quality will be similar to regular Blu-ray.
