Aputure Light Dome Mini II (21.5")
Key Features
  • For Light Storm 120 & 300 LED Lights
  • Includes 40° Fabric Grid
  • Gel Holder
  • Silver Interior for Maximum Output
Designed for light weight and portability, the 21.5" Light Dome Mini II is compatible with the Aputure Light Storm 120 and 300 Series LED lights, and in fact, any LED light with a Bowens front accessory mount. The sturdily built modifier has 16 wear-resistant Hadfield steel rods that form a circular field of light that yields wide coverage and pleasing, natural-looking catchlights in the eyes of your subject, while maximizing output with its reflective silver interior. To provide further control, Aputure includes a 40° fabric grid, which eliminates spill light but most importantly, gives you directional control of the soft source for selective lighting or dramatic effects. A filter holder is included as well, for creative color.

What is its depth? I now have 2 Light Dome II but they take up too much space in my small room with a 11' green screen. I need to be able to light the green screen and would like to get at least 6' space for subjects.

The depth of this Light Dome Mini II is just over 11 inches.

Can this be use with Godox AD200?
Asked by: Joel
Yes, as mentioned by the other respondents, you could use the AD200 (or a typical shoe-mounted flash with a wireless receiver or TTL cable) with the Godox S bracket to use this. If you prefer an alternative with a metal ring in particular, you could use a combination of these two items to mount the AD200 (or AD200 Pro or AD100 Pro) in a bracket that would hold the Mini Light Dome II (or another Bowens mount modifier): (1) SmallRig Double Ball Head with Cold Shoe & 1/4"-20 Stud B&H# SM1135 https://bhpho.to/38Jczda (2) Raya Reflector Adapter for Speedlight B&H# RARAS https://bhpho.to/30LAmor

I see Velcro tabs around the outer edge of the Dome. What are those for?

So you can hang material to flag the light, etc. Look at their Lantern modify for examples of this. The Light Dome Mini does not come with any flagging material, whereas the Lantern and Space Light do.

How does this compare to the Light Dome II? I'm thinking of buying this one because of the lower price tag + I feel the smaller footprint will make it more versatile. Is there something I'm missing?
Asked by: Andrés
The Aputure Light Dome II would be larger as well as deeper, thus allowing for a softer light versus using the Light Dome Mini II.

The ring insert size is 133mm and it is interchangeable. Maybe a 130 would work
