Sabrent USB-SW30 Reviews
Works as a stand alone - not with a docking station
I bought this to use with a Plugable Docking Station because Plugable is out of their switch (and has been for a long time). This switch makes it very convenient to switch between computers; however, the printer and scanner that are attached to the docking station don't work with this sharing switch. Not sure why not - the displays that are also attached to the docking station do work wtih the switch. It may be an equipment misfit - this switch would be AWESOME if you are not using a docking station, connecting the printer directly to the switch, and then alternating between computers.
Works with docking station
I'm using it to share a USB docking station between two laptops, a dell and an HP. Th docking station has two monitors, a mouse, and a keyboard. It seems to be working really well.
Only one issue
This works ok for what it is... a cheap switch. I use it to switch my headset on and off when working. It is only connected to one computer for that. That way I don't have to wear the headset all day to hear email or lync notifications when I am not in a teleconference. The only issue is that the leds are designed so that you have to be standing almost directly over it to see them. Basically the leds are worthless. It is a cheap switch so if that is the only thing I don't like then I will call it good.
It works very well and is easy to hook-up. Now the scanner is available on either comouter.
Uncomplicated, works as expected
I currently use this switch to share a monitor's USB hub between my work laptop's thunderbolt dock and my desktop PC. It carries my keyboard, mouse, audio, and webcam data without a hitch! Love the price and glad it includes both USB type B cables.
Good product, works as it should
Great KVM switch
Makes life really simple. I don't know if it is a feature but it auto switches when one of my machine is off, that is really helpful.
Works as advertised
Does its job perfectly.
