    Canon Pixma TS8220 reviews

Pixma TS8220 Wireless Inkjet All-In-One Photo Printer (Black) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for students! I received the PIXMA TS8220 Printer for the free to review. I needed a new printer for my son, who is a High School Senior. He needed something simple to scan things for school as well as print color art work/pictures and for all his school work. It was easy to set up, it was easy for my son to figure out how to scan, copy, and print as he is on the autism spectrum so there are times that he needs more help with directions. He was excited at how his colored artwork and photos for his school work looked just like how he wanted, without the colors muted. I am glad that we will have this when he goes off to college next year also. Great printer and fully recommend!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Printer Review I received a Canon Printer to review. After using it I find there are limitations. First, it turns off when not in use, so even though it is wireless, it does not sleep, it turns between usage. thus, you need to get up and go to the wireless location of the printer. It uses the small ink reserves at a very fast pace. I currently have an HP 8600 multi use printer that is far superior to the Cannon and priced the same. The Canon printer is a nice size but flimsy and does not provide the confidence that it is durable. It does print nice quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for office printing, awesome for pictures! Let’s begin with the fact that the printer was extremely easy to set up. There was a little confusion on how the front tray clicks into the front of the printer, and after initially trying to snap it back into the position it was in prior to pulling it from the printer, I decided that it must be how it was assembled. Other than that, I had little to no difficulty setting up this wonderful multi-function printer. However, I admit that being a computer technician makes the process quite easy for myself. The average end user might have some initial difficulties if instructions are not followed properly. So far, though, the printer does what a printer is supposed to do, print pages very well, and prints beautiful pictures on any glossy photo paper. There are just too many features to discuss in this short review, but mainly my favorite feature is how I can have it connect to my android smartphone through an app, and it will print ANY of my images that I have saved on the phone itself. Honestly, I’ve been using many different printers since I first began using computer systems, and I’ve seen what my friends use as well. If I had to recommend a quality printer, I would recommend this printer for the money paid. It sets up nicely next to my laptop in my living room where I do most of my work including school work. When I need to print up an assignment, I know I can count on this printer to deliver well done printed pages that will give my instructors pause. Because of the initial confusing nature of the front paper tray, I had to take off one star off the rating, but otherwise, it's a reasonable product at a competitive price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome printer! great for photo printing! Wow this printer does it all! first, I'd just like to quickly mention I received this printer as a free sample to write a review. which has zero influence on my opinion or experience with this product. I started getting really involved with photography but never printed my work before. So I was a little nervous at first setting up a printer for the first time. especially since I've never actually had to set one up before. But OMG the directions and instructional video links, made it so easy for me! I was set up and printing within a few minutes of taking it out the box! The ink colors were very clear and accurate to how I saw it on my computer screen! Having a wireless feature on this printer is such a plus! I have very limited space in my apartment so I have no room to be able to connect an ethernet cable to my computer or a wall. so having it in another room where there is no ethernet socket helped a lot. I was also able to print in different sizes and types of paper to have options when I needed it! I also used the scanner feature a few times which did exactly what a high quality scanner is supposed to do. I'm very pleased with this printer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features & easy setup When I received this printer to test I was very impressed by sight alone. I didn’t realize it was also a scanner which is a big plus. The printer displays instructions on installing on the printer screen which was great. I was very impressed when I printed my first color picture. It was clear and looked great and it was printed on regular copy paper. Very impressed!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good economy printer I received this product free in exchange for my honest review. I thought this printer was a good option for someone needing a decent, cost-efficient printer. The set-up didn't take too long, but I did have issues connecting it to my Wi-Fi. I believe the problem was on my router-end, and not the printer, but still, it took me longer than I expected. I like the cloud-print option where I can print from my smartphone. One of the features I was most-excited about was that the printer didn't have to be "on" for me to be able to print. It can be in a "stand-by" mode, and when the printer receives a print job, it wakes-up and prints the job. My old printer had to be physically turned on each time before it printed, and I don't like leaving my printer on all the time. It has the ability to Scan and Copy as well as Print. The Scan feature works great and I can scan to a network computer, attach to email, or save to the cloud, where the options are: Google Drive, OneDrive, Box, and DropBox. Using Windows 10 desktop, I'm able to view information about the printer, such as ink status and other printer information. There is also a web-interface to connect to the printer via http within your home network. Overall, this is an very good printer that isn't expensive and doesn't require a lot to maintain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Printing Directly from Phone is Super Easy!! From the moment I opened the printer box, I loved it and it's not just because I was given me a sample to write a review on.... The Pros; sleek design, relatively compact so it fits under my desk, really easy to set up (took less than 10 minutes), quality of photo prints are MUCH better than your typical home office printer, being able to print directly from my phone through the Selphy app is really convenient and very easy (not to mention pretty cool), print quality in general is top notch, I could easily print on different size envelopes which isn't always easy, paper feed tray can be from the back or underneath which makes storing it in a closed space much easier. The Cons; printer didn't come with a USB cable so I couldn't "hard wire" it to my computer until I dug up an already used cable from my closet (if it came with a USB cable, I would have given this a 5 star rating), when I unwrapped the toner it spilled all over the place (including my white shirt) and there was no warning about opening with caution. Some of the functionality isn't as intuitive as one would hope (it took me a few days to figure out all the settings). Overall, I really like the functionality and also the look of this printer and the fact that it's a Canon is even that much better as I typically am a huge Canon fan and I like to stay brand loyal.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good Multi-Purpose Printer/Poor Photo Quality Printing Purchased this printer for its multi-purpose functions; copy, scanning & printing. Also, because it was a Canon (I have purchased Canon printers before), I had a level of expectation regarding photo printing and quality. It was a great disappointment! If you are printing on glossy photo paper, you will probably have lines from the roller feed all over your prints. I tried Canon's own photo paper Pro Luster and while the resolution was noticeably improved, there were still lines through my prints, especially in dark fields of the image. If I had known this, I never would have purchased this printer. Canon has not resolved issues with their paper tray feeds on their printers, as well. I had many issues in the past with Canon printer paper trays; telling me the tray was empty when it was full, not being able to load the paper tray past a 1/4 fill mark or wouldn't print, at all, etc... While this printer is supposed to accept photo paper feeds for prints from its rear tray, it sporadically selected paper from the main tray, and then back and forth between the two trays - wasting ink. Best solution for this problem is just loading both trays with photo paper. If all you are doing is text printing, basic school printing for children, copying items for household & school needs, or scans, this is an acceptable printer. Although, for such basic needs, you could probably find a comparable printer at a much lower price. Canon Pixma TS8220 is NOT a quality printer for photographs or photo prints. VERY POOR quality and not worth the money. I will be shopping for a real photo printer in the very near future! Too bad coming from Canon....
