Once you have your desired height, the 2.6 lb monopod locks into place via the flip leg locks. Works as easy as I expected. The pistol grip ball head makes composing and shooting very easy. Camera steadiness ideal for extreme tele-photo shoots. I would defiantly recommend this product to anybody who wants to eleminate camera shake.

Difficult to use

I have Smith-Victor strobes so I had high expectations since the strobes have served me well for the last 13 years. I was disappointed though because I found this Monopod difficult to use. I thought with the feet that it would be more stable than it was. I also thought that the ball head would be more universal so that I could use it on a tripod that I had that the head finally bit the dust. It is heavy and seems to be well made. I like the storage bag as well. In all fairness maybe after more uses I might change my mind but right now I wouldn't buy it again if I had a do over.
