Distinguished by its long, slender lens barrel, this macro lens provides a 2:1 maximum magnification with a 1.5' minimum focusing distance and a close 0.8" minimum working distance. Even with such a close working distance, the lens measures 1.3' long, placing you at a comfortable distance to photograph nearby subjects. Also, as a wide-angle lens, greater depth of field is afforded when compared to traditional telephoto macro lenses, which allows for greater detail in the background with less subject isolation.

There are only adapters going from Nikon F to a Canon EOS body such as the FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter for Nikon F Lens to Canon EF-Mount Camera, B&H # FOPCEANF. That being said you can go with the Venus Optics Laowa 24mm f/14 Probe Lens for Nikon F for your D800 and adapt to the T7i when needed.

What is the exact diameter of the focus ring on this lens? I would like to put a Cool-Lux Ring Gear on it and the smallest measure is 60 mm. Do you recommend another model of ring in another brand? Do you think it is necessary to pay $ 200 more for the focus rings and iris?
Unfortunately, Venus Optics does not publish the diameter of the focus ring on this lens. If you wish to use it with a follow focus system, you could add an adjustable focus gear such as the Kamerar Universal Geared Lens Belt for FF-3, BH # KAKFF3B.

Will there be any plans for micro four third mount on the Panasonic GH5 or GH6 cams? I do not like adaptors as it'll degrade the optical path.
Unfortunately I have not heard that Venus will be releasing a micro four thirds mount version of this lens any time soon.
