Sony H8166 Overview

Reveal more with the Xperia XZ2 Premium H8166 Dual-SIM 64GB Smartphone from Sony. The XZ2 Premium features dual rear cameras, a Motion Eye 19MP camera and a black and white 12MP camera. Utilizing the AUBE processor, the images captured by each sensor are fused together, resulting in high-quality, low-noise photos. The rear Motion Eye 19MP camera can also take stunning 4K HDR movies, and snap hi-res HDR photos. Motion Eye can even slow down the action for fun and dramatic super slow motion movies at 960 fps, in HD or Full HD resolutions. It can also shoot in standard 120 fps slow motion, with the option to easily switch between the two. Both cameras also support Sony's SteadyShot 5-axis image stabilization, and low-light support with a memory-stacked image sensor to make you, and everything around you, look its best.

With a 5.8" 4K (2160 x 3840) HDR display, you can enjoy your favorite games and streaming content with rich contrast and vibrant colors. With Sony's X-Reality technology you can even upconvert standard content to near-HDR quality, for optimal viewing on the XZ2 Premium.

Running the Android 8.0 Oreo operating system, this phone is powered by a 1.7/2.7 GHz Snapdragon 845 Octa-Core processor (4 x 2.7 GHz Kryo 385 Gold, 4 x 1.7 GHz Kryo 385 Silver) and 6GB of RAM. You can store your 4K HDR videos, pictures, apps, and more on 64GB of built-in storage, which can be expanded via an (optional) microSD card up to 400GB in size. Please note that adding a microSD card takes up the second SIM slot.

This phone is unlocked and compatible with GSM/4G LTE networks. If you travel a lot or have a separate work number, you can take advantage of the Dual SIM slots to access both accounts. Connect to the internet and other devices with built-in 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac 2.4+5 GHz Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.0. The XZ2 Premium also supports NFC technology for making phone-to-phone data transfers, or mobile payments.

Android 8.0 Oreo
The Android operating system integrates heavily with Google's services. Using the card-based Google Now, Android quickly surfaces information for you whenever you need it, powered by the same Knowledge Engine that runs Google's web search. It's a personalized and customizable OS, allowing you to add your favorite apps or widgets to your home screen. You can even download new themes using the Google Play Store, which offers access to millions of apps, games, books, music, movies, and more. Android 8.0 Oreo adds major productivity and security capabilities to the operating system. They've introduced Google Play Protect, which scans apps on your phone to detect harmful behavior. With the touch of the Home button, continue to work in apps while watching active videos in Picture-in-Picture mode. Other features include, faster boot speed, automatically turning on Wi-Fi when near saved networks, limiting background activity for little used apps, notification snoozing, smart text selection, and more.
GSM / 4G LTE Wireless Connectivity
This phone is designed to work on select GSM networks and is 4G LTE capable. LTE is an advanced cellular network data protocol capable of data speeds so fast that they compete with wired broadband Internet providers. With an LTE connection, this phone should have no problem streaming HD video, downloading apps, uploading photos, or anything else that requires a high-speed data connection. The phone is also backwards compatible with 3G and 2G data for instances when you can't get LTE. In addition to cellular wireless, this phone also features Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.

North American Variant / US Compatible LTE
The H8314 is a US variant of the XZ2 Premium. The H8314's LTE radio is tuned to frequencies that are most often used in the United States and North America. It can also be used in other parts of the world; however, LTE access may be limited or unsupported, depending on the network. To ensure this phone will work with your carrier please check to make sure the frequencies your carrier uses are supported by this phone. Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS)
Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS) allows you to lower your mobile costs when traveling while staying connected. Once your SIM cards are installed, you will be able to receive phone calls and text messages from either without needing to manually choose which one is active. When you want to make a call or send an SMS message, you can select the correct SIM card. When one SIM card is being used for a phone call, the other will not be active until you hang up. Operator charges may apply.
Monochrome Photos & Video
The rear black and white 12MP image sensor can do more than enhance your normal photos. You can use the sensor exclusively to capture dramatic monochrome photos and video with a classic look.
Get Artistic with Bokeh
The rear cameras have the ability to provide your photos with a soft bokeh effect that blurs the background, enhancing the foreground subject and making them stand out more in your photos.
Captivating Dynamic Vibration

Create your very own 3D avatars with the Xperia XZ2 Premium and 3D Creator. 3D Creator is an intuitive app that lets you use the XZ2 Premium and the Motion Eye 19MP camera to scan an object, like your face, and generate a 3D avatar model of it. Use that 3D avatar to stand out on social media, share it with friends and family, or print it out for a cool display piece or gift.
Front-Facing Stereo Speakers
Share your favorite videos with your friends thanks to the Xperia XZ2 Premium's front facing speakers. Featuring S-Force Front Surround, they are designed to be loud enough for everyone to hear.
Fingerprint Sensor
The fingerprint sensor is located in a natural place on the back of the phone, so you can unlock it without moving your hand. The camera is also positioned closer to the center, so you can frame and compose your shots just like a pro.

The XZ2 Premium estimates how long your battery will last, based on your normal usage of the phone, and then will warn you if it thinks you'll run out of power later in the day, prompting you to turn on Stamina mode. Stamina will limit functions and apps from being able to drain the battery when needed.
