I use these as off camera flash syncing to my Canon EL-5 on camera. Love the lithium batteries long life and that they maintain wireless connection to the EL-5, unlike undependable connection of other EL-5 as off camera.

Great features and output control. So-so build quality. A heads up for anyone looking for compatibility with other Yongnuo units like the YN686, the batteries are different size (larger in this unit), even though they have same part number and power specs as the batteries that came with several of the older YN flashes.

Both the original Yongnuo YN-E3-RT Wireless Speedlite Transmitter for Canon and the updated Yongnuo YN-E3-RT II Wireless Speedlite Transmitter for Canon would be compatible for use to wirelessly trigger the off-camera Yongnuo YN680EX-RT Lithium Wireless High-Speed TTL Speedlite.
