SWAROVSKI OPTIK CTH Reviews

Outstanding.

I just switched to this after using the excellent Manfrotto 128rc with my Swarovski scope for several years. One of the reps in the store scoffed and pointed out that it is “identical” to the Gitzo one. It is not. It is very similar and also made by Gitzo. They are both excellent. I chose this one after comparing the two and I am very happy. My system is more stable and yet a little lighter. I was concerned about not being able to use it as quickly as the old one. Wrong. Very fast very stable. I’m sure the Gitzo version is also excellent. I chose what it chose and have no regrets. Highly recommend. (Also grateful to the other store rep who allowed me to compare and quietly respected my choice).

Counter balance knob fell off and counter balance issues

I purchased this head to mount a Swarvoski ATYS 60 mm spotting scope and seemed to work great with counterbalance on. I mounted a 82 mm Nikon Monarch scope and could not get it to counter balance well at all. No matter how I moved the scope on a rail to balance the scope the counterbalance did not hold. Also, the counterbalance knob just fell off. It was a slip on affair and no glue or attachment to the post of the knob.

Induro pu-50 plates will not mount on this head - any suggestions? Also the included plate is 3/8 inch - is 1/4 inch available.
Asked by: Brook
Swarovski Optik does not currently supply a 1/4"-20 thread, however, any Arca-Swiss plate with a 1/4"-20 stud will work with the CTH Head.

Does this tripod head have a single knob for both ...

Does this tripod head have a single knob for both pan and tilt (like the old Gitzo 1720?) or does it have two separate knobs? Thank you
Asked by: Adelia
For all intents, and purposes it would be considered one knob inside of another knob. So it is one whole knob, technically.
