The FF 5 x 6.5' HC Fast Frame Scrim Diffuser with Grid from Intellytech is for illuminating a large subject or area with light fixtures or natural light. With the Fast Frame system there's no assembly of softboxes or concern about speed rings dedicated to specific lights. The metal frame locks into place in seconds and can be supported upright or overhead with optional light stands and grip heads. You can pump light through the diffusion cloth for soft lighting or fill light. The cloth is often used with the kit's honeycomb grid to direct the light source and allow selective lighting. Another option is overhead use, like a butterfly, to tame the contrast of harsh light or the sun. It all fits in the included carrying bag.

Intellytech HC Fast Frame Reviews
good concept, albeit a bit light on construction
As I can't fit large floppies and modifiers in my vehicle, a collapsible modifier is a good solution. I have rented the Westcott Scrim Jim cine kit a few times, and always liked it. However, it doesn't have a grid, so when this product became available, I decided to give it a try. Online reviews were very positive, and price for such a large modifier is appealing. The size is very good and the grid is a selling feature (for me), but the lack of optional fabrics and plastic components force me to give this only 3 stars. If any of these are concerns for you, give the more expensive, more durable, Westcott Scrim Jim cine kits a look. As others have mentioned, it's a shame that Intellytech doesn't offer alternate fabric options. Being able to switch to a heavier cloth, or use a black cloth makes obvious sense. The main concern I have is with the plastic joints that the frame pivots on. I was told that these were metal, but they are definitely plastic. Thus, even though they may hold up for a couple years with delicate use by me, I don't have confidence they will hold up under the careless hands of a PA on set. This product would be fine in a studio, but I have doubts about how it will hold up in the field, and in transport with an unpadded bag.
Works as expected, lightweight and easy to set up
Good piece of equipment - works well - easy for one or two people which was important for some projects. Not as soft as I would like, but it is hard to tell as the room we shot in was small. Time will tell on the quality for the wrap around look. I used an Aputure 300x as the source, perhaps that needs to be a bit softer as well. I wanted the larger one but felt it would be to big to handle with small crew. It is easy to pack and transport so that is a plus. Salesman from BH helped in rigging out the necessary stands, good support. Needed to call Intellytech for clarification on an issue and the they provided good support as well.
