Nissin latest version 1-2 was released July 2019 and should fix any Z6/Z7 issues. Search for Nissin Digital and follow i400-details.
You can't update the firmware yourself. You have to send it to their CA office with a $15 charge on older units to have them update the firmware.

I assume so as a TTL strobe. Don't own a D850. I suggest that, If you have access to a camera store, put two together and test.
