Compatible with LS 300x and LS 300d II lights, this Barndoors, Grid, and Gel Holder from Aputure is ideal for shaping output and eliminating spill. The 4-way barndoors allow you to swing one to four of the leaves into the light beam and illuminate targeted areas or keep light from other areas. The grid narrows the beam spread to 30° without affecting softness or color temperature. A reflector is also included plus a magnetic gel holder for adding color to your output.

Will this give a tighter beam than the Impact Fresnel Spot-S Mount? I know barn doors would allow more power over shaping directions. But I am wondering about creating a narrow beam
Both options would offer a directional beam, but the barndoors would have a sharper edge while a fresnel spot will have a softer edge.

Yes, the Aputure Barndoors, Grid, and Gel Holder for LS 120d II and LS 300d II LED Lights will work with the Aputure LS 300d II. It also comes with a 30-degree grid.

What is the diameter of the opening of the filter holder? Would gels cut to 6" square cover the opening?
You would want to use a larger gel and leave room for it to vent heat. Rosco gels would be good https://bhpho.to/2sVC9K8. Placing a gel too close or blocking heat can cause the gel to deteriorate very quickly.
