Canon 2971C002 Reviews

Works great with my existing lenses

I recently purchased an EOS R7 and debated on which adapter I needed for my existing L lenses--money is a consideration in my world. I read a variety of reviews and comparisons but ultimately decided I just couldn't justify the price difference and so far, I am not disappointed in my purchase. This does add a bit of weight to the overall setup, but really no different than my previous 7D with a 70-200 2.8. That is my most used lens for sports and wildlife photography and I look forward to learning more about the operations of my new camera.

Works the way it is supposed to. I found with the control ring model, you need to use it with a canon lens first, it did not function properly with my sigma lens when using it as the first lens, on my R7. All my non canon work with this adapter without any issues.

Gives me the ability to use all of my ef lenses to their full ability, autofocus is great, focal length isn't impeded, and no information communication issues! Packaging was great and my product was in crystal condition.

Best piece of equipment you can have in your bag if you have an assortment of EF lenses from previous non mirrorless cameras.

I purchased this to use with my EF 16-35mm f/4L, 24-70mm f/4L, 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L lenses and all of them worked as good or better than on my 5D Mark-IV. It is very reasonable priced at $99.

Is there any rotational play/wiggle/slack with EF lenses with this adapter, or is the adapter tight and doesn't have any play?
Asked by: Thatcher
ABSOLUTLEY NOT! On multiple lenses from 16-35mm ef to my 400mm f2.8. I bought 2 since I have a lot of L series Ef lenses! Image quality up to 24-36 enlargement does not seem affected.

This adapter is meant to be used with Canon "EF" and "EF-S" mount lenses, including third party lenses (Sigma, Tamron etc.). FYI - "E" mount is associated with Sony's mirrorless l cameras.

Will this Adapter be compatible with the R5 R6 & EF L lenses?

Yes, I use it on an EOS and it works great. Canon also makes additional adapters for EF lease on the EOS R cameras, one that adds a control dial and one that allows for drop-in filters.

Can I use this adapter on a Canon mark 5d iv to mount Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 IS Macro ?
Asked by: karla
No. You are not able to adapt RF lenses to EF cameras due to the significant difference in flange focal distance. This adapter is for the reverse (EF lenses to RF cameras).
