The CMF-8 Camera Mount Adapter from Zoom is an accessory attachment for the Zoom F8 and F8n Multitrack Field Recorders (sold separately). The CMF-8 can be used to securely mount your DSLR camera onto the F8 or F8n recorder via an integrated 1/4"-20 screw. It allows for full recorder access.

This plate conceptually is great. I'm disappointed that after the 1st use, the "set screw" which holds the disc (needed to thread the camera on top) onto the 1/4"screw -- disappeared -- the disc won't stay attached and it's effectively pretty useless until I replace it. I'd consider this a defect.. will see if I can easily replace it, and/or how Zoom & B&H handle it.
The problem with this design, same for the one on the top of the Zoom F6, is that they skimped on the black shiny washer that you can see surrounding the metal thread stud: it's thin plastic, with a gap, and it simply jams after just a little pressure, making the entire mechanism useless. I pointed this out to them about two years ago, and they have continued ignoring this problem.
