    Korg nanoKEY2 reviews

nanoKEY2 Limited Edition Slim-Line USB MIDI Controller (Blue/Yellow) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes, it is all that and a bag of chips I use it as a very portable key board/midi controller. I is just what I wanted/needed. It is just right, very responsive. I like the pitch bend buttons better than a wheel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big Improvement Over Previous Generation The size of the nano devices have always been outstanding. The previous generation had serious durability issues that seemed to be addressed with this latest release.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convenient Korg Controller Keyboard. At the lowest price I could find for a controller keyboard, the Korg nanoKey2 is very impressive. It only has twenty-five keys, but the octave shift buttons allow you to change the octave up and down, giving reach to the full range of notes for electronic music. It has neat pitch bend, sustain, and vibrato buttons, too. It resembles a computer keyboard in the flatness and shape of the keys and is even smaller than a computer keyboard. It works great with my electronic music software. It even picks up musical accent (velocity); so the harder you press the keys, the louder it is, and the softer you press the keys, the quieter it is. The only thing that would make it better is if it had sounds of its own. However, it serves its purpose as a Musical Instrument Digital Interface controller well. It comes with a software code so you can download some electronic music programs from the Internet; so if you do not have music software already, you can get some to use with the nanoKey2. The cable that it comes with stays in the socket very tightly and it will not fall out so easily. This is good so it will not disconnect on accident. Overall, the Korg nanoKey2 is a good buy for being able to listen to, experiment with, and record sounds in audio software without having to use the computer mouse and computer keyboard all the time to program commands and test out sounds. It is light-weight and its slim-line design is very convenient and saves space. It would be good for use with a laptop on the go. I find it a nice addition to my desktop home studio. It is perfect in function for its size. Very neat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it I just got my nanokey2 a few days ago and already love it. The piano keys take some getting used to but after that, it works fine. The only issue I have with it is that when playing notes quickly or rythmically, the keyboard tends to lag just enough to be noticeable. Other than that the size and simplicity of the keyboard is great. Especially for its price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for the minimalist This is perfect for traveling, living in small spaces, and being able to QUICKLY pull out some keys and lay something down. Setup couldn't have been easier; I just pulled it out of the box and plugged it straight into my vintage 2007 MBP. Logic Studio recognized it immediately, and I was composing straight away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great portable controller Great for what it is: an extremely portable music controller, not a replacement for a full-size keyboard controller but an augmenting controller for portable use. I take it with me everywhere, so I can drop tracks into my iPad easily.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Plug and play input device For data (note) entry, it does what it says it does. Great price. A little too velocity-sensitive, but maybe there is a way to adjust that. (Haven't read the manual, just started using the device right away).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Capable Portable Contoller Using this controller with my win10 laptop and vst synths running in Cantabile w/asio4all driver. The controller was  recognized by the system and all functions worked without issue or any noticeable latency.  The pitch bend and mod buttons are not quite the same as having wheels but are workable for a majority of playing situations. The sustain button can be configured for latching or momentary which is nice. Overall I have mixed feelings about the build quality.  The keys work well and in the few weeks Ive had this device Ive given them a good workover and they seem to hold up. However, dont let their appearance fool you, these are not rubber-like MPC style pads. They are hard plastic and have a really super cheap cheesy toylike feel to them.  Even at this price point I would not have though it worth it if not for the packaged software that comes with it.  Also, while I would not call this fragile, its not tough either. Packed in a moderately crowded backpack it developed a slight bow during a short trip.  I was able to flatten it back into shape and it still worked fine.  Overall satisfied, but I would have gladly paid a few extra bucks for better pads.
