Because the description for the adapter does not include which models it works with, the buyer has to go by the photos. Judging by the photos, one can see how this device would work, but the Hero8 Black is both too thick - the clamping screws are too short - and too tall - the bracket is not wide enough to clear the height of the camera.
This is a very nice adapter for Go-pro models from 4 to 7. The material looks strong and well designed. I suggest to find YouTube videos to best mount the camera on the adapter, specially about the orientation. But works perfectly.
