Product Defect-Customer Service Failure

The inside of the rear glass (interior to the lens) has a defect that looks like a coating is peeling or delaminating. The lens is 21 months old and only used about 7 times since purchase. I only noticed this problem recently. It may have been there longer but I don’t inspect my rear glass as much as the front. I’ve written to Samyang Korea, they referred me to Samyang USA, and they referred me to Elite Brands that does Samyang repair. Elite brands said the lens was out of warranty and they would replace it for $405. This is a manufacturing quality defect and I am disappointed to have to pay $405 for a $499 lens that was used only 7 times. I had high hopes for this Samyang lens but this is a failure of product… and, more importantly, a failure of customer service. Based upon this experience I will not purchase another Samyang lens

Is this lens focus by wire? Some say it jumps when trying to manually focus stars as point sources of light.
Yes this is a focus by wire and doesn't have hard stops, so for focusing on stars it may be a bit more difficult than with a lens that has hard stops, but I have tried it and have had no issues focusing on stars.
