Highly recommend this arm. It holds very steady, doesn't come loose easily like so many Magic Arms, and is fairly easy to adjust monitor alignment even when filming run & gun style.

Does the 7 inch length include the length of the rail clamp?

Yes, the 7" total length of the CAMVATE Articulating Magic Arm with 15mm Rod Clamp (7") does include the length of the rail clamp, so in other words, this magic arm is 7" total from end to end when configured so that the are is straight out.
