Taking a simplified approach for operators that have multiple types of batteries, the Teradek Dual Direct Mount Battery Adapter Plate incorporates contacts for both the L-series and LP-E6 battery, allowing you to use either battery to power your device without switching plates. The plate allows you to power any Bolt series transmitter and most Bolt receivers. The plate features 6-mounting holes and a JST power connector. Two built-in 1.35mm coaxial power outputs provide power via an included accessory power cable.

How long will an L-series vs the LP-E6 battery run on a Teradek Bolt 500 XT transmitter? Thx.
This will depend on the exact NP-F style battery you use. However a large NP-F style battery, such as an NP-F975, is around 4-5 times longer in capacity than an LP-E6.

Once I connect the JST connectors, where am I supposed to tuck them into? The gap inside the battery plate, or the gap inside the Bolt 500XT transmitter?
As other users have defined, you can press the cable from the transmitter into the gap and align the connector to allow the battery plate to press into the opening. It's going to be a tight fit, but it should work.
