This Metrovac was the closest replacement I could find as far as form and function. Bought the Pony in 1979.

Why does it have two speeds? Can you turn off the blower?

The two speed function is meant to help increase its ability to remove dirt from carpets. The blower is an optional function and must be turned on to use.
